UK THEME PARK ANNOUNCES FREE RIDES FOR THRILLSEEKERS TO KICK START THE BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND!
As the UK prepares to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this June, award-winning UK theme park, Fantasy Island will add to the celebrations by renaming its popular ride, The Odyssey, to The Platinum Jubilee Odyssey, in honour of our monarch.
Ensuring the whole family can get involved in the celebrations, Fantasy Island is also offering free rides on the renamed rollercoaster on Thursday 2nd June between 11:00am and 18:00pm.
The Odyssey was originally built in 2002 and titled The Jubilee Odyssey to celebrate the Queen’s then Golden Jubilee – and the royal connections don’t stop there. The ride which reaches speeds of up to 63mph – was first opened by cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Edward the Duke of Kent.
Paige Harris, Head of Marketing at Mellors Group, said: “We are delighted to announce the renaming of the now Platinum Jubilee Odyssey back to its original name. Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne are truly remarkable, so it was an easy decision to honour her service with this simple gesture.
“Fantasy Island is the perfect place for families to join in the celebrations and have some fun over the Jubilee weekend. We’re looking forward to welcoming guests and gifting them a free ride on The Jubilee Odyssey!”
Please note, the Jubilee Odyssey may be closed depending on extreme winds or weather conditions. However, there’s still plenty of fun to be had on Fantasy islands 30-plus rides and attractions, so head on down to Fantasy Island theme park this Jubilee weekend.
